Quiet zones define adapted land use to minimise disturbance to the natural environment.

Quiet zones are areas in the Triglav National Park that are crucial for the conservation of flora and fauna. In these areas, human activities such as mountaineering, ski touring, cycling, paragliding, air transport, agriculture and forestry are adapted in time, space and manner to minimise disturbance to nature.

Peace areas are marked with special signs on forest roads and mountain trails. Access on marked forest roads is restricted to landowners and forest managers and is timed. Such quiet zones are identified by roadblocks, traffic signals and notice boards.
