The Austrians built a fortress near the Predel Pass in the early 19th century.
The complex consists of a central building, several auxiliary rooms and connecting rooms with a stone staircase, as the fortress is divided into two parts by a road.
In 1809, a battle with the French took place here and most of the Austrian crew lost their lives. They were buried in a tomb under the road.
There are also numerous hiking trails nearby, for example The Hay-carrers' Trail or Mangrtsko sedlo Educational Trail.
