PROGRAMME:
10:00 - 15:00 tour of the Pocar Homestead
Pocar's Homestead in Zgornja Radovna is one of the oldest preserved homesteads in the Triglav National Park, and its almost unchanged exterior, interior and furnishings make it an outstanding monument of architectural and ethnological heritage. Its great value is the collection of living equipment, tools and other objects that have been made, used and kept in the homestead over the centuries. We will take you on a fascinating tour of the homestead, which is now a museum of living culture.
12:00 Opening of the exhibition of the Gornjesavský Museum Jesenice: Charcoal - the black power of the ironworks: the life of charcoal burners and the role of charcoal in the iron industry
In the past, the Gornjesavska valley was characterised by the iron industry, which was a voracious consumer of charcoal. It was the source of countless charcoal piles, which are still lit today in Rute, Zgornja Radovna and Koroška Biała. The exhibition Charcoal - the Black Power of the Smelters shows the history and importance of charcoal making in the industry, the process of charcoal production, who the charcoal burners were and how they lived. It will be presented by its author, Špela Smolej Milat, Curator of Ethnology at the Gornjesavski Museum.

13:00 Guided tour of the hummocky meadow
The hummocky meadows in the Julian Alps are a world speciality and, unfortunately, we have already lost many of them due to the demanding maintenance.
