Guided Tours

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to come to this paradise where trained park guides will help you see and experience the world of eternal mystery and the treasure chest of nature - Slovenia's only national park. Should you decide to experience the Triglav National Park with us, we'll make it a different, genuine and meaningful experience.

The programme of guided tours is given in the annual plan of activities and events, but guided tours for special groups can be arranged by prior arrangement.

At visitors' request, TNP can organise, coordinate and provide the services of a guide for trekking or bus tours, ranging from easy walks of up 5 hours of walking in the valleys or mid-altitude hills to rather strenuous walks involving 5 to 8 hours of walking in the high-altitude mountains. All tours can take a day or several days. Guiding is available in Slovene, German, English and Italian.

In 2009 TNP is launching a new set of guided tours titled Discovering the Triglav National Park. The tours are intended for all who wish to discover the park in our company, on easy walks, accompanied with the park's rangers as tour guides. In addition to beautiful nature and spectacular views, the discovery trips also include historical and cultural points of interest.
If you wish to join us on our discoveries, wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring along some snacks and plenty of beverages.
We look forward to discovering the park with you!

Pršivec, 1 August 2009 at 8:00
Meeting point: car park at the Savica Waterfall

The trip starts with an organised transport to the Blato alp. The tour to Pršivec is a special adventure. Although persistently taking a visitor upwards through extensive forests, the trail offers magnificent panoramic views, shows numerous peculiarities of plant and animal life, runs past abandoned pastures and rekindles the memory of Bohinj pouchers, who hunted not out of passion but of a need to survive.
The tour takes 6 hours. It ends at the Savica Waterfall.

Rekindled memory of the former sheep pastures of Zgornje Posočje – 8 August 2009 at 8:00
Meeting point: Village Soča - the crossroads for the village Na Skali

The Za skalo alp boasts a renovated sheep pasture with a typical homestead and its levelled roof. Over this pasture, which was active until 1978, the most frequented path between the Trenta valley and Bohinj once led. The pasture Za Črnim vrhom used to present the same type of archaeological heritage, but since the last grazing year (1965) only a minor part of a homestead has been preserved.
The tour takes 7 hours.

Tolminske Ravne and the pastures of Kal and Razor – 15 August 2009 at 8:00
Meeting point: Tolmin, central car park by the Ciril Kosmač Library

The tour starts with a 30-minute drive to Tolminske Ravne. As it is not neccesary for all participants to drive in their own cars, carpooling will be arranged at the meeting point. The trail will take us from Tolminske Ravne towards the Kal alp where we will stop for a short break. From the alp, there is a 20-minute ascent to Grušnica, which offers some of the spectacular views in the area. We will return to Kal and proceed from there to the Razor alp. We can stop for another break at the mountain hut, and then return to Tolminske Ravne. The tour, which takes 6 hours, is not particularly demanding.
