While visiting the Triglav National Park, you can notice different kinds of marks, including information boards. They mark the borders of the park, inform visitors of the rules of conduct in protected areas and give directions. An increasing number of boards also present the natural and cultural particularities of the area.
Information points and park trails in the TNP are divided by length into:
On-site information points are equipped with at least two information signs – information explanatory boards – and are not part of park trails. In the TNP, such information points can be found in Stari Tamar below Vršič, at the charcoal burning sites in Martuljek, opposite the church of St. John at Lake Bohinj and at the Kluže fortress.
Extended information points or short education or nature trails normally refer to one, spatially limited natural phenomenon – a site of natural value. Through a short walk, the phenomenon is presented with several information tools (notice boards, posts, small bridges) or an information board is put up at the beginning and the end of the trail section in which the attraction is located. Belonging to this group are the Zelenci marsh, the Goreljek bog, which is also a part of the Pokljuka Trail, the Mostnica troughs in Bohinj, the Tolminka troughs, the Pokljuka gorge and the Natural and Cultural Heritage Trail in Radovna.
