AV.IS – INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR THE VISITORS ON NATURAL HAZARDS (Interreg III A)

The AV.IS project (Alps Visitors – InfoSystem – Natural Hazards) is a programme of cross-border cooperation between Slovenia and Austria (Carinthia) in protection from natural hazards, especially in the nature conservation important areas. The partners in this project are KAGIS (project beneficiary), PUH d.d. and the TNP.

For the areas of consideration (the municipality Kranjska Gora in Slovenia), expert groundwork will be prepared in 2007, the procedures and tools for the evaluation of the natural world will be harmonized, an Internet-based information system for suitable information of target groups will be set up. We will include “protection against natural disasters” topic in the TNP information service, we plan to raise awareness of natural disasters with various activities and prepare directions for the development of tourism and leisure activities in the light of natural disaster risks.
