The aim of the project is the preservation of biotic and landscape diversity through the establishment of sustainable mountain management. The programme, financially supported by the Principality of Monaco, includes monitoring of the state of vegetation, explorations, archaeological excavations and training on biotic diversity. In the course of archaeological excavations led by Gorenjska Museum in cooperation with the TNP, some remains of pottery and fragments of fibula dating back to the Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages were found.
Completion of the programme on Klek as well as a proposal for new programmes for the period 2007-2009 are planned for the year 2007.
The programmes will focus on initiatives designed to promote the preservation of biodiversity and landscape diversity and will include research assignments, monitoring, renewal of cultural heritage and educational and informative promotional campaigns.
